Our work would not be possible without our dedicated volunteers!

COVID-19 UPDATE: CWC’s in-person biannual Energy Coach Trainings remain on hold as of April 2021. We hope to host our next in-person training Fall 2021 if deemed safe.

Becoming a CWC Energy Coach is a rewarding, hands-on opportunity to assist Alachua County community members. You will directly assist families in creating more disposable income, and help conserve our planet’s natural resources in the process.

As a CWC Energy Coach, you will complete extensive training on how to complete a home energy tune-up. This will prepare you to assist local residents with reviewing their utility bills and making small household changes. This work often results in citizens saving an average of $250-$300 a year on their utility bills.

Our Energy Coach training includes a mandatory three-part, 12-hour, training course where you will learn about home energy systems. This training occurs twice a year, each Fall and Spring. Please watch our website and Facebook page for upcoming training dates, or click here to sign up for our newsletter and updates.

Volunteer Installing Tank bankThere are many other ways to assist the CWC, too. Tasks include: organizing tune-up kit supplies and doing inventory, taking photos during events or for our website, completing data entry projects,  grant-writing or research, event planning, and fundraising. Your skills can help the CWC serve more Alachua County residents!  If you have another skill set you think may benefit the CWC’s work, we’d love to hear from you.
